SEO Specialist

About The Position  

9thCO seeks an SEO Specialist that breathes organic search. Knowing on-site and off-site SEO techniques, with a passion to learn and grow, this candidate also seeks to understand changes within SEO to remain a competitive asset to 9thCO’s team.

While being an SEO powerhouse is an integral part of this role, the bigger challenge (which we know you can take on!) will be demonstrating out-of-the-box thinking towards client work, and always being ready for a challenge. Some challenges big, some small; but with the right attitude, always fun and always rocking the status-quo of SEO.

Your Skill-Set:  

  • Deep understanding of SEO: both on-site and off-site. 
  • Understanding of ever-changing organic search algorithms. 
  • Good understanding of Local search factors. 
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and other common SEO tools. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Passion for digital marketing and efficiency from experience. 
  • Bilingual is an asset. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Create content appropriate to the clients' business and audience. 
  • Complete SEO Audit/Strategy reports by assigned due dates. 
  • Diligently ensure approval before posting any content. 
  • Constantly research, test and improve our SEO processes. 
  • Adhere to CRM time allotment to manage client work. 
  • Monitor and maintain projects in accord with clients' agreements.

Magento / Front End Developer / Programmer

As a digital agency focused on doing things right, the person we hire will manage a wide variety of digitally related client projects, with a strong emphasis on communication and team coordination. We need someone who is responsible, well-organized and self-motivated to join our team as a full-time Magento / Front End Developer.

You will be responsible for working on a range of projects - from maintaining / updating existing sites to creating custom web applications. A proactive, accountable and detail oriented individual is required. 

We have an opening for a full time front-end developer who is experienced with HTML5, jQuery, and CSS development. Someone who dreams in code but has a love affair with UI design.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Working with the dev team to ensure that projects are implemented according to the specifications, timeline and budget. 
  • Presenting recommendations and quotes on the development of projects. 
  • Assisting in the care of site updates, upgrades and other support tasks. 
  • Contributing to testing and QA of the work done. 
  • Working directly with the Lead Developer. 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Passion for beautiful design and UI 
  • Complete command over HTML5 and CSS3 
  • Experience developing Magento themes from scratch
  • Experience with the latest Magento version
  • Proficient in JavaScript and jQuery 
  • Passion for new web technologies 
  • 2+ years of experience 
  • Proficiency in other dev languages is preferred 
  • Photoshop/Illustrator skills are a plus 
  • Strong intermediate analysis and debugging skills 
  • Familiar with web standards, browser compatibility and overall best practices 
  • Disciplined, organized and reliable work habits 
  • Eye for detail and quality results driven 
  • Comfortable working both in a team environment & individually on assigned tasks 
  • Requires good communication and writing/ documentation skills 
  • Experience with responsive design 

BONUS SKILLS:

  • Wordpress and/or Drupal experience
  • Familiarity with project life cycle aspects
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g. PHP) is a plus

EDUCATION:
Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, a web related program or equivalent experience.

Full Stack Web Developer / Programmer

We need someone who is responsible, well- organized and self-motivated to join our team as a full-time web developer/programmer. If you know what ‘PHP’ stands for, that’s a good start, because here’s what the job entails:  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Working with the dev team to ensure that projects are implemented according to the specifications, timeline and budget 
  • Presenting recommendations and quotes on the development of projects
  • Assisting in the care of site updates, upgrades and other support tasks
  • Contributing to testing and QA of the work done
  • Working directly with the Lead Developer

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years of related PHP experience required
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML & CSS
  • Intermediate knowledge in OOP methods with PHP5 & MySQL
  • Advanced knowledge of QJBU, LIPs & SQU1RT (those aren’t real things - just making sure you’re paying attention and not just skimming this list)
  • Experience with a PHP CMS’s such as Magento, Drupal, Wordpress
  • Experience with a version control system such as Git
  • Intermediate knowledge of JavaScript
  • Strong intermediate analysis & debugging skills
  • Usability & planning, architecture background
  • Familiarity with, and capable of, implementing web standards, browser compatibility & overall best practices
  • Discipline, high level of organization & reliable work habits
  • Eye for detail & quality results driven 
  • Comfort working both in a team environment & individually on assigned tasks
  • Good communication & serious writing/documentation skills experience with a PHP framework such as CodeIgniter & Symfony (Note: ‘CodeIgniter’ is an awesome name for a band)

BONUS SKILLS:

  • Unix/ Linux Administration
  • NET & MS-SQL
  • Familiarity with project life cycle aspects
  • Must be able to differentiate between the deadly Appalachian coral snake and its harmless lookalike, the scarlet king snake (this probably won’t ever come up, but it’s just good to know)
